Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, took part in the dinner hosted by US Secretary of State, Michael Pompeo, which was held in Washington, on February 5th, at the US Department of State.

At this dinner, US Secretary of State, welcomed a number of Heads of Diplomacy and senior officials from different countries of the world, to join the US initiative for the launch of the International Religious Freedom Alliance.

With his participation, the Head of Albanian diplomacy Cakaj reconfirmed the undisputed support that Albania gives to this American initiative and expressed our country’s willingness to be part of Alliance.

Albania has valued and values freedom of religion and belief as precious national values, demanding their respect in the international arena as well.

Even within the OSCE Chairmanship, Albania will continue to work for the protection and promotion of these rights in the OSCE region, by conducting activities aimed at protecting human rights, including those of freedom of religion and belief.
