Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj is in Germany to attend the 2020 Munich Security Conference.

Before the start of this Conference, Acting Minister Cakaj met with the Omani Minister for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

In the meeting, the Head of Albanian Diplomacy thanked his counterpart for their support for recognition of the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.

Both Ministers agreed on further joint action so as to lobby for Kosovo’s recognition by other states as well.

With reference to the meeting, Cakaj wrote in a Facebook post that, ‘We also discussed finalisation of a series of bilateral agreements so as to hold more diplomatic consultations and increase the economic relations.’​
