The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania has decided to open the General Consulate in Struga, in Northern Macedonia. The news was announced by the Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, in a Facebook post.

Cakaj stressed that this decision is in line with the plan to further deepen the relationship and interchange with Albanians in the region. The Consulate will cover Struga, Ohrid, Bitola, Kicevo, Debar, Gevgelija, Resen / Lake Prespa.

This consulate will have a special role in furthering economic, social and cultural relations between Albanians in this region and the Republic of Albania.

“We will continue to take new measures so as to strengthen ties with Albanians and uplift the Albanians in the region!”
