During his stay in Washington, Gent Cakaj, Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, also held meetings with the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Philip Reeker, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer.

The meetings focused on discussions related to the need of meeting all obligations to hold the First Intergovernmental Conference with the European Union as soon as possible, the joint work regarding the OSCE and Albania’s candidacy efforts for a non-permanent seat in the Security Council 2022-2023.

“Strong relations with the United States of America are of irreplaceable importance and with an indispensable value for Albania!” – said Cakaj in a Facebook post regarding the held meetings.
