According to Chief Diplomat Cakaj, this is a very important political period for Albania. After the decision to open negotiations for EU membership, Cakaj said that the next challenge is to meet the conditions for holding the First Intergovernmental Conference.

Further, Cakaj stressed that while the Government is fulfilling its responsibilities in this regard, it should be emphasized that meeting the conditions for the opening of negotiations requires, also, the maximum commitment from all institutions involved in this process.

“Albania has no choice other than working towards EU membership!” – said the Acting Minister Cakaj, at the end of his post.
