Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

The Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, informed via a Facebook post that besides the financial support of distributing free school supplies for the Albanian students in the Presevo Valley, the Albanian Government has decided to provide the necessary financial means to open the offices of the National Albanian Council in Medvegjë.

The Albanians in Medvegjë, as the Acting Minister Cakaj emphasized, have a great need for the presence of the Council and the support of Albania, especially in facing the issue of passivation of addresses and the great challenge to preserve Albanian as an official language.

“That is why, in front of all these historic challenges of the Albanians of Medvegjë, we must undertake our political responsibilities to support them institutionally.”- Cakaj wrote in his post.

Furthermore, according to Chief Diplomat Cakaj, the Albanian support to open the offices of the National Albanian Council is necessary, but still not enough.
“This marks the beginning of a deeper and consistent work to protect their rights and the strong support for the Albanians of Medvegjë.” – Cakaj concluded his post.
