Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

The Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, reacted via a Facebook about the confirmation of the indictment of the Special Court for KLA Leaders.

“There is not a Court in the World that can rewrite the glorious history of the Liberation Army of Kosovo and to make up for crimes against humanity and the genocide committed by Serbia in Kosovo. Period!” – Cakaj emphasized in his post.

According to the Chief Diplomat Cakaj, the request of the real justice is clear, that is why Serbia and not Kosovo had to be confronted with their criminal past and to hand in the war criminals (vested with the politician suit today) to the justice system.

“The supposed crimes of war in Kosovo were investigated from UNMIK, the Hague Tribunal, EULEX, national courts and now in a totally one sided way, even from the Special Court. Kosovo different from Serbia has expressed the readiness to cooperate with all the mechanisms of the international justice system. Kosovo has nothing to hide: its war has been pure and just.”- expressed his conviction Cakaj.

The Acting Minister Cakaj also emphasized that the behaviour of the Chiefs of KLA and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo in these last few days has been dignified not only in the personal and national realm but it also showed the full readiness to stand up to the justice system and to uncover the truth. According to him, the KLA Leaders today once more carry the burden to protect the values of KLA and the whole recent history of Kosovo.

“We are totally convinced in the righteousness of the war and in the innocence of the Leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Kosovo as always will resurrect even stronger regardless of the challenges!”- concluded his post the Chief Diplomat.
