The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, today held a video call with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić. The discussion focused on the process of passivizing of addresses of Albanians in the Presevo Valley.

“We expect the relevant bodies of the Council of Europe to address this issue with due diligence, to guarantee the protection of the fundamental rights of Albanians in the Valley,” Cakaj said via a Facebook post regarding the video call.

Further, Chief Diplomat Cakaj emphasized that this conversation is only part of a wider diplomatic action, to raise the great alarm and increase international sensitivity for the passivizing of addresses and the general economic, social and political situation of Albanians in Medvedja, Bujanovac and Presevo.
