Today, the acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, held an online meeting with the Commissioner for European Neighborhood and Enlargement Policies, Olivér Várhelyi.

With Commissioner Várhelyi, Chief Diplomat Cakaj discussed overall the possibility for the countries of the Western Balkans to have the chance to get the vaccine against COVID-19, at the same time as the countries of the European Union.

Regarding the meeting, via a Facebook post Cakaj said that the Commissioner was asked to implement simultaneously the EU vaccination policy in Albania as well. “Under these extremely difficult circumstances, this would be an extraordinary example of solidarity between the Western Balkans countries and the EU.” – Cakaj ended his posting.
