Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated at the Regional Forum for Sustainable Development, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in cooperation with the UN.

Minister Xhaçka stated that the adoption of the 2030 Agenda and the global goals for Sustainable Development have provided Albania with the necessary political framework in order to make the right choices and overcome the crisis.

Chief diplomat Xhaçka stressed that the SDGs are an integral part of our National Strategy for Development and Integration for 2030, while listing some of the essential initiatives that the Albanian government has undertaken towards their implementation.

“I am pleased to say that we are working closely with the United Nations and other actors in this process, which is ultimately beneficial to our EU integration. In addition to enhancing the investment climate, we have paid special attention to the principle of ‘leaving no one behind.’ One of the central policies in this regard remains the empowerment of women, an area in which we have already made considerable progress,” she said.
