The agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Italy on “The mutual recognition of driving licenses” was signed in Tirana.

This agreement was signed by the Albanian Foreign Minister, Olta Xhaçka, while the Italian part was represented by the Italian Ambassador to our country, Fabrizio Bucci.

“The Agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Italy on the mutual recognition of driving licenses” adopted based on the Legal Act, no. 144, on 10/03/2021, from the Council of Ministers, paved the way for its finalization.

Today’s agreement will be followed by the completion of the internal legal procedures of each representative, until the publication in the Official Journal.

The agreement was made public by Foreign Minister Xhaçka, during her last visit in Rome, alongside the Italian homologue, Luigi Di Maio, confirming the mutual understanding on one of the most influential agreement in the lives of thousands of Albanians, who live and work in Italy.

“These concrete steps, though seemingly minor in the larger diplomacy action, have the most direct and tangible impact on the citizens”, – declared Minister Xhaçka after the meeting in Rome.
