Deputy Minister Megi Fino was part of the Salzburg Europe Summit organized by the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) on 26 September 2021.

During the panel `Western Balkans Enlargement – Dead End or Fast Lane` she discussed on “The Dynamics and Future of Enlargement Policy in the Shadow of the COVID-19 Pandemic” with 6 other colleagues from the region and Austria.

Deputy Minister Fino, emphasized that Albania is a reliable partner and ready to hold the First Intergovernmental Conference with the EU. Any delay could cause credibility problems for the EU and the European Union’s enlargement policy. She also pointed out that EU integration is an inspiration for domestic reforms and regional co-operation.

In her speech, the Deputy Minister said that the EU has a very important role for the region, but important decisions must be made so that the process moves forward.
