The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, received in a meeting the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Press, Teresa Ribeiro, who is in Tirana attending the Press Conference in South East Europe, “Journalism in time of crisis”.

Minister Xhaçka said that Albania has given its contribution within the country and at the OSCE level, during the chairmanship in 2020, to strengthen the “fourth power”, freedom of expression and thought, protecting journalists and media representatives.

The Albanian chief diplomat stressed that Albania is a proud and active member of the group of friends for the safety of journalists in New York, Geneva, Vienna and Paris and works closely with likeminded countries, in support of journalists who risk their lives for the public service, for a free, independent and diversified press.
