Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, in an official visit to Kosova, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosova, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz.

Minister Xhaçka congratulated the government of Kosova for reaching an agreement with the Serbian counterparts on the issue of the license plates, as she emphasized that supporting the Kosova-Serbia dialogue is priority for Albania, as a necessity for the entire region.

“The isolation that has been done to Kosova by denying visa liberalization is unfair and incomprehensible. There is no justification for dragging this matter further and keeping this absurd situation in suspense. Albania will always do everything in its power to support Kosovo. And I am convinced that by working closely together, we can do a lot to advance the legacy of those who 110 years ago fought to give Albanians, everywhere in the region, a better future”, said the Albanian chief diplomat at the joint press conference with her counterpart Gërvalla-Schwarz.

During her visit, Minister Xhaçka also met with the President of Kosova, Vjosa Osmani and Speaker of Parliament Glauk Konjufca.

This official visit comes at a celebratory and meaningful moment, as it coincides with the 110th anniversary of Albania’s Independence.
