On the sidelines of the Budapest Balkans Forum, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani.

The two ministers agreed on the excellent relations between the two countries, which would further develop in the future.

Minister Xhaçka congratulated her counterpart Osmani for the OSCE Chairpersonship, for which she expressed her belief that it will contribute to peace and prosperity in the region and beyond and guaranteed Albania’s full support and commitment.

In addition, Minister Xhaçka conveyed her support for the next presidency of the RMV, that of the Adriatic Charter.

They discussed the long journey of the two countries towards the European Union, where precisely at these moments we must join our efforts in order to fulfill the required tasks and to go on this path to the end.

The Minister also appreciated the role and contribution of the Albanian factor, which continues to contribute to the security and prosperity of North Macedonia, since the Ohrid Agreement, to that of Prespa, as well as that of good neighborliness with Bulgaria.

At the end of the meeting, the two ministers agreed on a future visit to Skopje by MEFA Xhaçka, at the end of this month.
