Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

On July 11 and 12, 2023, in Vilnius, Lithuania, the Heads of State and Government of NATO countries participated in the high level meeting of the North Atlantic Council.  The Summit was attended also from the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, as part of the Prime Minister’s delegation.

During the discussions, Minister Xhaçka made sure to highlight that Albania is still committed to increasing both political and material support.

“We made the decision to establish the NATO-Ukraine Council, a new joint structure where Allies and Ukraine will sit as equal members to enhance political engagement, cooperation, and Ukraine’s aspirations for NATO membership. We stressed with the NATO Foreign Ministers the crucial role that EU and NATO cooperation plays in ensuring the security and stability of the Western Balkans, particularly for Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina.” added the Minister after the summit.

The Albanian Chief diplomat also reaffirmed Albania’s unshakable support for the nations afflicted by the current security situation—Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and Moldova.
