The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the meeting of the National Council of European Integration, where she emphasized that Albania is experiencing a re-energization of the integration process and a new attention from the European institutions.

Minister Xhaçka stated that Albania’s one-year progress since the opening of negotiations is more than satisfactory and underlined the fact that the EU institutions appreciate the seriousness, the commitment of our country to the process, and full alignment with the values and principles of EU.

“Advancement with the membership process is of vital importance for our country. United as a nation and society we are committed for EU integration because membership is a determining factor in the country’s success through comprehensive reforms, and through it we can ensure development and consolidate partnership with our progressive western allies. In this context, we welcome the fact that EU member countries and its institutions are treating enlargement as a strategic need”, said Minister Xhaçka.

At the end of her speech, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka praised the successful cooperation with the Head of the EU delegation in Albania, Christine Hohmann, as she wished her success in her new diplomatic mission.
