Main tasks and specific directions of activity

• Identification, testing, adaptation and introduction into agricultural practices of new technologies and inputs for the culture of corn and other plants/animals of special importance for the region;
• Preparation of technological packages for corn;
• Preparation and publication of informative materials for agricultural specialists and farmers;
• Production of parental components of some maize hybrids;
• Research and testing at the farm level for problems raised by farmers;
• Trainings for agricultural specialists, farmers and other interested subjects;
• Provision of technical expertise for advisory service structures and farmers;
• Demonstration of new technologies of corn cultivation, silage preparation and other crops of special importance for the region;
• Preparation and publication of informative materials for agricultural specialists and farmers.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the tasks of the Center will also include:

• The needs and priorities of the region;
• Agrozonal testing required by other Centers;
• Initiation/preparation of projects that address the specific problems of the area;
• Internship for students of the Agricultural University, etc.
