The Ministry of Agriculture, through the National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority and the Institute for Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine, informs the public that there is no case of avian influenza (bird flu) in Albania so far.

After analyzes carried out on three different dates and with over 60 samples, the results obtained from the samples sent by the National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority to the certified laboratory at the Institute for Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine categorically exclude the viral disease of bird flu .

The results of the analysis in the reference laboratory confirm that there are no diseases that endanger the consumer or food products of poultry origin.
We inform you that the suspected cases are located in only 2-3 establishments in a single area.

The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority and the Institute for Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine are constantly monitoring and conducting checks to verify the reasons for this epizootic situation.
