Anila Denaj was born on September 18, 1973, in Tirana. Since September 2023, she holds the position of Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

She graduated in Finance and Banking Management in 1995 at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics and comes with a long work experience, both in the private banking sector and in the public sector. Her 28 years of experience includes a considerable period in the field of international consultancy.

Previously, Mrs. Denaj has served as the Minister of Finance and Economy.

Mrs. Denaj has been the Deputy Head of the Albanian Agribusiness Support Team (AASF) – supported by the Albanian Government and EBRD. Previously, she served as an external expert for the Rural Credit Guarantee Foundation (RCGF) – supported by KFW.

Ms. Denaj, is a former banker with over 18 years of experience in this sector. She worked as an international financial advisor for 12 years at ProCredit Holding GmbH / IPC Consulting Gmbh, holding various management positions in ProCredit Group banks in Salvador, Bolivia, Ecuador, Romania and Mozambique. In Albania, he held the position of a member of the board of directors of Procredit Bank and previously of the Deputy General Director of Procredit Bank.

In 2014, she held the position of General Director in the Ministry of Finance, focusing on the supervision of operations in Finance, Legislation and State Property Management, Information Technology Management, Human Resources, etc.

Her experience also extends to her role as a board member in many important institutions as a member of the Board of the Administrative Council of the Mandatory Healthcare Insurance Fund in Albania (FSDKSH), simultaneously holding the position of General Director for a period of 4 monthly.

She has also served as a member of the Board of the Albanian Social Insurance Fund and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Insurance Company INSIG SH.A. For three years, Mrs. Denaj was a member of the Board of the Authority of Electronic and Postal Communications in Albania (A.K.E.P.).

Ms. Denaj has a long cooperation relationship with the School of Public Administration (ASPA) and is a trainer certified by the European Union in the Leadership program. Currently, as the chairperson of the sub-committee for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), she has completed the certification on the topic, “Circular Economy. Transition to Sustainable Development”, near the educational institute, MIT Professional Education in Boston, USA.
