Main tasks and specific directions of activity

• Identification, testing, adaptation and introduction into agricultural practices of new technologies and inputs for seed fruit trees, potato, barley, rye, small cattle and cattle of mountain areas;
• Preparation of technological packages for seed fruit trees, potato, barley and breeding of small livestock and cattle of mountain areas;
• Production and distribution of controlled breeding material (animals) with high genetic values for small cattle and cattle of mountainous areas;
• In-situ conservation of indigenous breeds. (Pure-breeding of sheep, goats and cattle breed of mountain areas);
• Research and testing at the farm level for problems raised by farmers for agricultural crops and categories of animals as above;
• Trainings for agriculture, livestock specialists, farmers and other interested subjects;
• Provision of technical expertise for advisory service structures and farmers;
• Demonstration of new technologies of cultivation of seed fruit trees, potato, barley and small cattle breeding;
• Preparation and publication of informative materials for agricultural specialists and farmers.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the tasks of the Center will also include:

• The needs and priorities of the region;
• Agrozonal testing required by other Centers;
• Initiation/preparation of projects that address the specific problems of the area;
• Internship for students of the Agricultural University, etc.
