In many EU countries, such as France, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Greece, cases of the presence of Avian Influenza in wild birds and in poultry breeding establishments have been confirmed. This is a disease which today has affected the entire European continent and the rules being followed in Albania are in accordance with the procedures of the European Union. Currently, France is the most affected, where 540 establishments have been affected and 72,000,000 birds have died and been eliminated.

The regulatory procedures of the EU for protective measures against the avian influenza disease have also been established in our country (such as the 3 and 10 km protection and surveillance zone), the avian influenza disease is listed in the 7 main emergency diseases in the EU. This disease is considered a cross-border disease where the measures to be taken are defined both in the legal framework of the EU and in our legal acts.

I want to assure the consumers that there is no case from the studies done that the disease can be transmitted from the consumption of poultry by-products.
