Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development

The Minister of Agriculture, Frida Krifca, with the political leader of the Fier district, Taulant Balla, and the Mayor, Armando Subashi, met the farmers who cultivate strawberries in the Frakull administrative unit of Fier. Farmers here are unified to plant the same crop in significant quantities which makes them marketable factors.

Minister Krifca called on farmers to apply to benefit from the National Scheme and to interact with each other to build a more consolidated and structured agriculture.
“I wanted to invite those who have not applied, who do not have a hectare themselves, to interact with a simple agreement of understanding. There is a reason why we need to steer farmers towards large farms and unionization.

Unfortunately, a very big mistake was made early on with land allocation, which has led to land fragmentation, and therefore a problem with productivity and the large areas we need to have an exporting, price-dictating agriculture. While with oil we made a very big transformation last year, and this year the amount of tax-free oil that will benefit farmers will be increased.

Joining Minister Krifca’s call to apply, Balla reminded the farmers gathered in Kafaraj that there is a benefit of 200 thousand new lek for each hectare planted with strawberries. Balla also reinforced the news of the increase in the amount of tax-free oil for farmers.

“Budget support is for everyone. We increase the budget support for oil because no Albanian who works the land should be left without receiving tax-free oil. Two hours from here there is a war. The price of electricity is five times higher than a year ago. And the price of electricity in our bills has not changed”, said Balla.

Albanian farmers can apply until March 25 to benefit from the support measures in the National Scheme 2022 for agriculture. Now the budget for tax-free oil for farmers has increased to 1.4 billion Lek.
